Rio De Janeiro aka Rio is a city in brazil, it is designated as a World Heritage Site. Rio De Janeiro is famed for it's Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, 38m Christ the Redeemer statue atop Mount Corcovado and for Sugarloaf Mountain, a granite peak with cable cars to its summit. Rio De Janeiro are divided into 2 different sections, one with planned and urban design area called "people of asphalt" another with unplanned and messy design area called "people of the hill".
Reflection (Importance of built environment)
Firstly, built environment for the nation is important in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil because rate of crime can be decreased. This is because in the Favela, there are no laws. People can do whatever they want with the government closing one eye. Rate of poverty is high there causing crimes like robbery, stealing and drug dealing to happen everyday. Hence, a proper built environment can prevent and decrease rate of crime in Rio De Janeiro.
Secondly, importance of built environment cannot be ignored in Rio De Janeiro because it heavily affects the residence's health. Number of a proper health care center provided for the community are too less. They have to travel a distance to reach which is totally inconvenient. Besides that, they also require clean water supply. Waste water are combine into 1 pipe and being expelled at the beach. These incident causes many skin problems to the people there. With the presence of built environment, all of these can be avoided.
Lastly, built environment is important because it can enable their country's economy become stable. Poverty rate is high in Rio De Janeiro causing economy in their country to be low. With a messy and bad sanitization environment, chances of international businessman to trade there will be low. A clean and neat environment will be preferred. Hence, built environment is important to increase the economy rate.
