Overall Reflection

Throughout these 14 weeks, I've learned a lot regarding spatial design such as design principles, difference between form, spaces and voids. I was worried at the first place as this is a module that requires me to build models out for each and every assignment. Finding the correct material was hard for me at first because I didn't manage to find the correct ones. In the end luckily I manage to found the correct materials which I've also learned to differentiate which materials are suitable for building models.

As for building models, at first I didn't get the point of building mock up models, it felt like I did it only for submitting progress. But after going through the first assignment, I've learned that mock up models are meant to see if the whole works out or will I encounter any problems before building the final model. It will give me more time to think of how to overcome those problems faced so that I can come out with a solution to fix it.

Assignment 2 is a group assignment. I'm very glad that I have awesome teammates (Zhiyi, Tricia and Andrea). We help each other through the whole assignment. We discuss everything together and work out as a team. We had group calls and finish the assignment together smoothly. Even though there are some problems faced such as how to make our final hybrid model look more natural as we can only combine it online due to the pandemic. Lastly we try editing the polystyrene board, changing the brightness and angles of the model to make it look more natural.

TGC 3.0: Thinking and Problem Solving Skills

As this module is a whole new thing for me, I don't know much about any skills or principles that I can apply while building my model which makes me worried. I have to use my critical and creative thinking skills to find a creative and suitable way to build my model. When facing problems while building my model, I have to analyse those problems and find an effective to solve it.

TGC 4.0: Communication Skills

Communication skills is important in this module which I've learned a lot during these 14 weeks. Especially for the 2nd assignment as it is a group work. Communication plays an important role in a group to decrease the rate misunderstanding due to miscommunication. Me and my group members communicate all the time to ensure nothing goes the wrong way and so our friendship can always stay strong.

TGC 8.0: Digital Literacy

In all 3 assignments, ICT plays an important role as we have to draw sketches and plan outs using digital form which is quite a big challenge for me. I don't master digital things which is actually a big problem for me when accomplishing my assignments. Especially during assignment 2 where I need to find a way to combine all 4 models into 1 which required a lot of patience. I've learned many things regarding ICT after these 14 weeks which I think I've improved a lot.
